Figs are ripening and fall class starting

*The loaded fig trees are beginning to ripen their luscious, juicy fruit and we have some this week. My mother’s favorite is fig preserves with lemon, so that will be simmering on the stove as the volume of fruit increases.

It is the peak of tomato season and the large, smooth, red fruit we have to offer this week will look great on a tomato and Swiss cheese sandwich, lightly toasted, another favorite.

I will be offering an organic growing class starting this month on putting in a fall garden. This hands on class will be from 9-12, every other Saturday for 3 sessions. The first class is August 15 and the cost is 150 dollars. Contact Lynn to register.

Hope to see you picking up veggies Friday,
Lynn
