Pumpkins and muscadine!

The market is open with fall veggies- okra, eggplant, spaghetti squash, peas and more. I will be out of town the next couple weeks, so stock up.

The September market is open

September brings lots of peppers and the promise of muscadines next week. We will have products this week and next then take a break for a couple of weeks while we do some traveling.

Fresh veggies at your fingertips

The Market is open with many varieties of peppers available, as well as potatoes, garlic, beans and a few figs. I hope you find something you will enjoy.

Cane Creek On Line Market is open

This is perfect weather for peppers. Expect to see even more (including lunchbox peppers) in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, deer broke through the fence and ate all the okra plants. Hope you are doing well and enjoying the cool mornings.

The market is open- tomatoes, figs, peppers galore

The abundant rain has made for abundant crops this summer, which we are so please to be able to share with you. Try some of the different pepper varieties, like the sweet cubanelles. With a thin skin, they are perfect for a quick stir fry. the poblano peppers give just a hint of heat to dishes or you can stuff them. Anaheim are also used for chili rellenos.

Figs are ripening and fall class starting

*The loaded fig trees are beginning to ripen their luscious, juicy fruit and we have some this week. My mother’s favorite is fig preserves with lemon, so that will be simmering on the stove as the volume of fruit increases.

It is the peak of tomato season and the large, smooth, red fruit we have to offer this week will look great on a tomato and Swiss cheese sandwich, lightly toasted, another favorite.

I will be offering an organic growing class starting this month on putting in a fall garden. This hands on class will be from 9-12, every other Saturday for 3 sessions. The first class is August 15 and the cost is 150 dollars. Contact Lynn to register.

Hope to see you picking up veggies Friday,
Lynn

Blueberry abundance about over

The blueberry bushes have outdone themselves this year with an abundance of berries. We have a good supply this week, but will probably have only a few pints next week. Remember the health benefits of blueberries and how easy it is to freeze them for later and stock up. to freeze, pick over them for stray leaves or sticks then lay in one layer on a cookie sheet and place in the freezer. When they are frozen, put in freezer bags.

Tomatoes are increasing in abundance this week, and we have a good supply of both the red slicers for sandwiches and many other things and the special Carbon for gourmet eating. Of course, there are also the cherry tomatoes for great snacking.

Notice that there are 3 farms offering products on this on line market. Cane Creek Farm is where you pick up and has many products listed, including vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers. Reggie has worked with me for a good many years, and he is listing some of his produce from his two farms.

Market is HOT, open now

Summer has set in with characteristic temperatures in the 90s. All the summer veggies are growing well and we have a nice selection today. Order by Thursday noon with pick up on Friday.
See you soon,
Lynn

This week's market is open

The middle of July and we finally have tomatoes. It has been a most unusual year, but the summer produce is starting its usual flood of abundance that will last about a month. Stock up now if you want to freeze or can. Blueberries are still abundant and if anyone wants to come pick for halfs, let me know. We are having trouble keeping up.

Welcome July
