Spring has sprung

The temperatures at night are still cool and causing us to hold off on planting the summer crops, but the days are just beautiful. I grew strawberries this year, mostly for our use, but I wanted to share some with you faithful friends of the farm who are supporting us. Get on line and order right away, as I am just offering a few.

The CCF Market is Open

Lettuces are king this week, with three varieties available from Cane Creek Farm and two from Grow with the Flow. The sugar snap peas are starting to flower so peas are just a few weeks away. Our volume is starting to pick up, so share the market with some of your friends. The market is open till Thursday morning and pick up is Friday at the farm. See you Friday, I hope,
Lynn

Veggies are here this week!

Good Evening,

The market will be opening tomorrow at noon.

Salad greens are maturing in the hoop house! These fresh spring greens are such a treat after months of hydroponic winter lettuce. This week the Romaine is ready, next week the butter crunch and the adorable little gem lettuces. Stock up with some dried shiitake mushrooms to have on hand whenever you need them. Soak them in hot water for 10 minutes and they are ready to be used like fresh. In addition, that soaking water is essentially mushroom stock.

Stay Safe, Keep Clean, Buy Green!

Veggies need another week

Hello farm community,

As spring moves in with us, everything has a different look because of the suffering of the world. Yet, the spring comes, anyway, and plants grow and flowers bloom.

The plants are growing, but not yet ready for harvest. I hope by next week there will be arugula and green onions and romaine lettuce and maybe some green garlic. Please check back in then. I will send out another email on Monday night to let you know.

Please be safe and keep others safe.
Lynn

Weblog Entry

Hello Farm Community,
The market is open

This week has brought more changes to our world with the ever increasing limits to our activities and movements, as we try to protect the health of our community. This is new territory for most of us and is throwing us into uncertainty. We begin to question the certainty of everything we had never questioned before.

One thing I know is that we all have to eat and I can grow food, so that is what I will be doing. I have planted garlic, onions, lettuce, arugula, carrots, green onions, scarlet queen turnips, sugar snap peas, broccolini, and Napa cabbage, so far. Potatoes, kale, and other greens will be next. Tomatoes and peppers are started in flats to be transplanted.

There will be a pause in the market after this week, as we wait for the spring vegetables to mature, but after that, I expect a constant supply. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your farmer,
Lynn

Cane Creek Farm veggies are available

Hello Cane Creek Farm community,

We have some veggies available this week, though the days are different than the previous CSA days. It just works better for me to decide on Monday what I have and let you know on Tuesday. If you have problems with the Friday pick up times, let me know and we will try to work something out. Be sure you get your order in before the deadline.

You can go to the website and order now. Look at the quantity to make sure there is some still available. You can go ahead and order even if it shows 0, and I will provide them if they are available. Knowing the amount ahead of time is not an exact science.

If you do not pay ahead with a credit card, please come prepared to pay by check or with exact amount of cash.

You will find your order in the store cooler with your name on it.

Order some fresh vegetables to make your time at home more enjoyable.

Last Market in November

Good Evening,

The market will open at 9pm tonight. This will be the last one in November. So, order away.

Order Here

As you may know, there was a freeze this past week but it seems most crops have made it through and looking forward the temperature may be between the 50s-60s next week. If these temperatures hold throughout December, we will most likely have the market open next month too.

But there is always available dried goodness and jams from Duluth Cottage Kitchen.

And super-healthy microgreens from Tumble Tree Farms.

Cheers,

The Farmers’ of Cane Creek

Good Morning All,

Thank you for continuing to get your locally grown produce from Cane Creek farm. The market is officially open and we will have it open throughout the upcoming weeks as long as we have vegetables growing.

The market calendar on the homepage will show the ordering and pickup periods.

A regular email will typically be out on Friday afternoon’s to notify everyone that the market will be open that evening.

Here’s to the Fall colors and the cooler weather.

Cheers,

From the Farmers’ of Cane Creek
